What best describe the population of children who use American sign language is that most of them have hearing parents who dont already know American sign language. New studies have reported that about 75% of hearing parents of deaf children do not have a comprehensive knowledge of sign language. This means that the majority of the children are not getting good sign language at home; this makes them so backward in learning the language and this in turn make them perform woefully in school.
