It's the isosceles triangle then ∠A ≅ ∠C. Therefore m∠C = 50°.

If BD is a heigh of the triangle ABC, then AD ≅ DC and m∠CDB = 90°.

AD ≅ DC → 3 = y

m∠C = 50° and m∠CDB = 90° then m∠CBD = 180° - (90° + 50°) = 40°.

Answer: x = 40 and y = 3
