Greetings!

Solve for x.
[tex]16:1.5=20:x[/tex]
[tex]16/1.5=20/x[/tex]
Cross Multiply.
[tex]16*x=20*1.5[/tex]
Simplify.
[tex]16x=30[/tex]
Divide both sides by 16.
[tex](16x)/16=(30)/16[/tex]
Simplify.
[tex]x=1.875[/tex]

1.875 litres of pain would be required to cover an area of 20 meters².

Hope this helps.
