There are two angles on the clock at 3:30 (AM or PM).
There's the big one, around the outside of the hands,
and the little one, between the inside of the hands.

The big one around the outside ... where the  7,  8,  9,  10, 
11,  12,  1,  and  2  are ... is  270  degrees or a little more.
That's a 'reflex' angle.

The little angle between them, where the  4  and the  5  are,
is  90  degrees or a little less.  That's an 'acute' angle.
